Broadmoor Middle C-KAP Program Promotes Its Largest Class

Baton Rouge, LA- 11 Broadmoor Middle students participated in the Core Knowledge Acceleration Program (CKAP) promotion ceremony at the school on Thursday, April 5, 2007.
The CKAP program is designed to increase student achievement for over-aged middle school students. The spring promotion ceremony at Broadmoor Middle included students advancing from 6th to 7th grade and 7th to 8th grade. The total number of CKAP promotions at Broadmoor Middle School this year is 31.
A number of parents and guardians attended the event which was led by CKAP math teacher Becky Niece. The promoted students received pins and certificates in honor of their achievement.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
