Beginning April 20, the East Baton Rouge Parish School system will undergo an intensive three-day interview and data collection session with members of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools' Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) April 19-22. District Accreditation is the highest honor a school district in this region can obtain.
Twenty members of SACS CASI Quality Assurance Review (QAR) team, made up of educators from across the country, will arrive in the East Baton Rouge Parish School District on the 20th to hear an overview of the district from the Superintendent of Schools. Key school district stakeholders will then be interviewed and data will be gathered over the next two days. The team will use the data collected through the school visits in formulating commendations and recommendations for the district as well as verification of the District’s compliance with the seven SACS CASI Accreditation Standards for Quality School System.
On Wednesday, April 22, the team will conduct any final interviews needed for the Standards’ verification. A special board meeting is scheduled for 2:30 to hear the major conclusions set forth in the Oral Exit. This meeting is open to the public.
