Hundreds Turn Out for Pre-School Palooza
- January 28, 2011
Last Saturday, January 22, the promenade was crowded at Cortana Mall, and not all the people there came for the great shopping deals alone. Hundreds of people also were there to participate in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System’s Pre-School Palooza.
Sponsored by Children's Coalition of Greater Baton Rouge; Cortana Mall; and the School System, the free event offered one-stop shopping for those with children in or entering Pre-K and community services available to them. Some of the organizations present included: Lexlee's Kids, LSU Extension Services, Families Helping Families, Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge, Just Kids Dental, VOA Partnerships in Children and many more.
Volunteers included those at booths representing various schools. For instance, pre-school teacher Vicki Landry (pictured) modeled storytelling and read aloud to children at her booth.
