Baton Rouge High Students Win Toshiba/NSTA Exploravision Award

These students (Leixin Z., William W., Chad K., Johnny L.) were the Regional Winners in the Toshiba/NSTA Exploravision Contest. They are pictured with science teachers, Mrs. Frost (far Left) and Mrs. Cao (far right).
Thousands of team entries were submitted from across the United States and Canada in resoonse to Exploravision"s 15the Anniversary challenge to young people to create a vision of a new technology.
Their project entitled "Integrated Driving Assistancce: Mapping the Road to Your Future" is one of 6 that will compete at the national level.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
