EBR to Reveal Renovation Plans for BRMHS at Community Forum

The East Baton Rouge Parish School System has scheduled a Community Forum at 6 p.m. Monday, January 11, to unveil and discuss renovation plans for Baton Rouge Magnet High School campus.
The meeting will allow the public to view suggested plans for the campus. Baton Rouge Magnet High School is scheduled to undergo a multi-million-dollar renovations project beginning in the summer of 2010 that is expected to be completed in two years.
Representative from the School System, School Board, Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance, Foundation for Historical Louisiana and the Baton Rouge Alumni Association are scheduled to attend the meeting.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
