Broadmoor High Student Wins LET 3 Cadet of the Year Board

Cadet Capt. Bobby Nguyen, a student at Broadmoor High School was named this year’s LET 3 (Leadership and Education and Training) Cadet of the Year Board winner for the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. According to Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert Hyver of the district-wide JROTC program, Nguyen has demonstrated exceptional knowledge of the JROTC curriculum. He has displayed his leadership capabilities as the drill team commander, along with being the academic team captain for the George C. Marshall Leadership Symposium. Nguyen currently maintains a 4.46 GPA and is ranked 1/208.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center).
