Writing Is a Ball at Brownfields School Thanks to Wal-Mart
- September 25, 2009
Brownfields Elementary School students are bouncing back when it comes to learning about writing thanks to a partnership with the O’Neal Lane Wal-Mart store. Principal Deborah Morrison asked the store to provide 10 basketballs as prize incentives to get students to improve their writing skills. Thanks in part to Wal-Mart’s generous donation, two students a month are recognized for their outstanding writing skills and awarded a basketball or a stuffed toy animal mascot from the National Collegiate Athletic Association. This month’s winners are Brownfields Elementary students (pictured) Aaron Mencer (fourth grade) and Layla Morris (third grade).
