They are (pictured, left to right): third grader Nathalie Soto of Park Forest Elementary School, seventh grader De’Unta Simmons of Westdale Middle School and 11th grader D’Untay Young of Belaire High School.
The three students’ artwork now will be entered in the state-level School Bus Safety Poster Contest sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Education, Office of Federal Programs Support, School Bus Transportation Program.
Both contests are part of the national poster contest celebrating National School Bus Safety Week, which is October 17-21. It is celebrated annually to promote school bus safety awareness, education and the outstanding safety record of school bus transportation throughout our nation. Student art this year should express the theme “Be Aware – Know the Danger Zone!”
