The 2010 national Census is fast approaching, and the U.S. Census Bureau needs your help in getting the word out to the community about how every person can be counted in the coming year.
The local Census office sent out two important packets to our schools at the beginning of the year. The Census in the Schools program was highlighted in the packets, which included curriculum guides to help teach students about the importance of the Census. Coupled with online resources at www.census.gov/schools/, the information is designed to promote the use of Census data in the classroom as part of the education and awareness campaign.
If you didn’t receive the packets, need more information or have any questions, please contact Lorita Frank at (225) 456-7088 or lorita.w.frank@census.gov
