Krewe of Jupiter Gravitates to Delmont Elementary for Mardi Gras Celebration with Students
- February 18, 2011
Members of the Krewe of Jupiter orbited into Delmont Elementary School’s space today, February 18, and brought an out-of-this-world Mardi Gras event to students.
While visiting classrooms, costumed Krewe members, such as (beginning center, left to right) Dee Everett and Remy Graves, passed out beads and trinkets to students like (at right, left to right) Kylin Harris and Lanaya Bell. Krewe Queen Keiran Landry and Princess Mallorie Saia (in the background, left to right) helped keep the party moving from classroom to classroom. The Krewe also held a mini Mardi Gras parade for students. This is an annual event for the Krewe, which also visited Riveroaks Elementary School today for its Krewe of Eagles student parade.
At 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 25, Jefferson Terrace Elementary School will hold its Pre-K Mardi Gras parade, while Baton Rouge Center for Visual & Performing Arts holds a parade of kindergarteners’ floats at 2 p.m. Friday, March 4.
