Three EBRPSS Office Professionals Named to State Board

Tanya Brumfield, Debbie Breland and Marilynn Stokes, three East Baton Rouge Parish School System office professionals, were named to the Louisiana Association of Educational Office Professionals’ (LAEOP) Executive Board for 2011-2012. A swearing-in ceremony was held at the 32nd annual Association Conference held March 3-5 in Bossier City.
Brumfield, who is the secretary to the assistant superintendent of the Elementary Area I, was named president-elect. Exceptional Student Services steno clerk Debbie Breland is the Board secretary, while Stokes, an executive school secretary at the Montgomery Center, was named treasurer.
Other LAEOP Executive Board members include: President Edwina Ford, Vice-President Carl Owens and members-at-large Bessie Whitehurst (Northern) and Judy Russell (President).

Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
