East Baton Rouge Parish School System Earns Top Financial Reporting Honors

The public accounting firm of Postlethwaite & Netterville has performed the school system’s annual financial audit for several years. Once again, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System has received an unqualified audit opinion, the best opinion an organization can earn.
In addition, the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the EBRPSS for its financial reporting in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2005.
And for the same fiscal reporting period, the EBRPSS received the Association of School Business Officials Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting. It marks the twentieth consecutive year that the school system has received this prestigious award.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center).
