Glasgow Middle School Student Wins Locally, to Move on to National Chemical Society Poster Contest 1026 - October 26, 2009

Artwork by a Glasgow Middle School student has won the Baton Rouge Section of the American Chemical Society’s Poster Contest and will go on to compete at the national level in Washington, D.C.  The poster by student Karen Liao (photo) took top honors, and the first-place award included $50 for the student, $100 for the teacher and $250 for the school.  Other Glasgow Middle School student winners included:

Second Place

Katherine Wang
$25 student award, $50 teacher award, $200 school award

8th Grade Student Award

Lucia Lian
$15 student award

6th Grade Student Award

Stephenie Wang
$15 student award

The awards were presented to the students, teachers and schools October 17 at LSU’s "Super Science Saturday.”  For more information, contact Marie Metzger of the local American Chemical Society chapter at (225) 339-7172.
