42 Middle, High School Counselors and Graduation Coaches/Facilitators Complete National Certification
- February 3, 2011
Forty-two middle and high school counselors and graduation coaches/facilitators represented the East Baton Rouge Parish School System January 24-25 at the Career Pathways Leadership Conference at Dutchtown High School in Geismar, La. By doing so, they completed their national Career Pathways Leadership certification.
The conference registration was covered by the School System’s Office of Career and Technical Education in keeping with the district’s Strategic Plan -- 100 percent of the school counselors and graduation coaches/facilitators completed this national certification. The entire certification process took two school years. Half of the school counselors attended the same conference in the 2009-2010 school year.
This two-day conference this year engaged participants in how to facilitate planning time for: • Career Pathways System • Programs of Study • Rigor, Relevance, Relationships and Contextual Teaching as a Part of a Program • K-12 Career Development Systems • Offering and Promoting Non-Traditional Career opportunities
