East Baton Rouge Parish School System Teacher Named Recreator of the Year

JiJi Jonas, who teaches Adapted Physical Education at Broadmoor High, La Belle Aire, Scotlandville Elementary and her home school being Villa del Rey, was recently honored by the Louisiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with the Recreator of the Year Award for Louisiana. She was also named the Recreator of the Year by the Southern District Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance for 2008. JiJi also serves as president-elect of the Louisiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. JiJi is co-presenter of the workshops "PE is More Than Duck, Duck, Goose" and Physical Best/Fitnessgram certification workshops.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center).
