EBR Lab Academy Now Taking Applications

Opening August 2007: East Baton Rouge Laboratory Academy
Deadline to Apply: Thursday, May 31st
The East Baton Rouge Parish Laboratory Academy, a college preparatory school, will open in the fall with 100 ninth-graders. EBR Lab will be co-located on the Istrouma High School campus with its own students, teachers and classes.
There are currently 29 spots available for students who live in the Istrouma High School attendance zone. Students who apply will be accepted on a first-come, first serve basis. Once all seats have been filled, a waiting list will be created.
The deadline for applications is May 31.

Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center).
