Southern University Marching Band greets parents and students at Lanier Elementary School on the first day
Lanier Elementary’s first day of school was full of harmony thanks to some musical support by the Southern University Band.
Director Lawrence Jackson and members of his band were on hand to greet parents and students as they arrived at Lanier for the first day of classes. "It was the most harmonious first day of school ever. No separation anxiety noticed today. This was a great example of community support and was much appreciated," said Principal Deborah Morrisson.
Lanier Elementary's community partner, Dr. Roy Jacobs of the Educational Leadership Department, assisted in scheduling the Southern University Band to appear at the school.
