East Baton Rouge Parish has been selected by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) to participate in the Louisiana Safe and Supportive Schools Initiative (LSSSI). The LSSSI project will take a systemic approach to improving conditions for learning through improved measurement systems that assess conditions for learning, which includes school safety, and the implementation of programmatic interventions that address problems identified by data.
Because the new initiative is data driven, all parents of high school students in the parish are asked to complete an electronic school climate survey.
