Eden Park Elementary Hosts the McKinley High Choir for Holiday Performance

The McKinley High Choir performs a selection of holiday classics during a concert at Eden Park Elementary.
The sounds of holiday melodies flowed through the Eden Park Elementary Auditorium on Tuesday, December 11th. The McKinley High School Choir, under the instruction of Elizabeth Cobbins, performed several holiday classics for members of the community and students.
The performance also included a combination of presentations such as dance, piano solos and spoken arts. The event served as a fund raiser for the choir. The Baton Rouge Chapter of The Links, Inc. paid the admission for all students.
Students participated in a holiday sing-a-long, featuring favorites like “Jingle Bells” and “O Christmas Tree”.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
