Meet the New Superintendent Community Forums

East Baton Rouge Parish School System Superintendent, John Dilworth and members of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board have scheduled a series of public forums beginning July 6. These meetings will allow the superintendent and board members the opportunity to meet with, and hear directly from, members of the Baton Rouge community.
After a brief introduction by the new Superintendent, members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions or make comments. The Superintendent will use this information as he prepares for the upcoming school year.
The forums are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on the dates and locations listed:
• Monday, July 6, at McKinley Magnet Middle School • Tuesday, July 7, at Woodlawn High School • Monday, July 13, at Istrouma High School • Tuesday, July 14, at Scotlandville Magnet High School
The forums will introduce Mr. Dilworth, who began his tenure as Superintendent July 1, to the community.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
