Scotlandville High Senior Wins Third Place in Poster Contest

Scotlandville High School Senior Clint Berry received third place in the 2007 Magnet Schools of American Poster Contest for the high school level.
Clint competed with magnet school students from around the country. His entry was both colorful and creative. The East Baton Rouge Parish School System received a plaque and a $50 prize on behalf of Clint’s efforts in the competition. The district was presented a prize at the Magnet Schools of America National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada April 30-May 3, 2007.
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
