School Board Approves New Redistricting Map

The East Baton Rouge School Board, during its March 18 Board Meeting, voted to approve a new reapportionment plan which will shrink its current 12 person membership to 11 after the next School Board election. View Map
The next election is October 2 with a runoff, if necessary, on November 2.
School Board members serve staggered, four-year terms. In total, the Board represents 83 schools and more than 42,000 students.

Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center).
