Riveroaks Elementary Students Celebrate Improved Test Results with Water Slides, Sprinklers and Games
- August 12, 2011
A little bit of water and a lot of fun went a long way with Riveroaks Elementary School students Thursday, August 11, during their LEAP Lagoon event. The outdoor celebration was held for fourth- and fifth-grade students who scored at least Basic on the Math and English Language Arts LEAP and iLEAP tests in the spring of 2011. For example, the fourth-grade Math score went up by 20 percentage points.
Staff uses the event as an incentive to encourage students to work hard learning all year long. Fourth-grade students Savannah Connerly and Scarlett Perez (pictured) were just some of the 65 students who enjoyed refreshments and water-related games in "swimming pools," sprinklers and slip-and-slides.
