- Jan 17, 07
The East Baton Rouge Parish School System will hold an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Scotlandville Elementary School on January 24, 2007. Classes began at the newly renovated school on January 8th. This is one of several construction projects made possible by voters approval of the 2003 one-cent tax plan extension.
The old Scotlandville Middle School was renovated at a cost of $4.3 million dollars and renamed Scotlandville Elementary. Students at Scotlandville Elementary will now enjoy brand new furniture and equipment in each classroom, and teachers have access to state of the art technology during student instruction.
