Two Scotlandville HS Students Receive Data Processing Scholarships
- January 22, 2010
Scotlandville Magnet High School students Ericka Plant (first photo, receiving her award from Black Data Processing Association (BDPA) President Randy Powe) and Travis Lee (second photo, with Powe) were selected for separate $1,388 scholarship awards recently by the BDPA’s local chapter. As part of the awards, the students also receive free training throughout the remainder of high school and beyond to build Web sites and learn other related skills.
The students were chosen based on interest, grade point average, completion of the application and BDPA membership. The Scotlandville High School students were the only students chosen in the parish for the scholarships. Plant and Lee will have an opportunity this summer to compete in the National BDPA conference competition.
