Brain power, solar power and a little muscle are all that is needed to rev the engine of Baton Rouge Magnet High School’s solar car. Students on the Solar Car Team, under the sponsorship of teacher Peter Oelschlaeger and student captain Joey LeBlanc, have the car up and running at full force after years of design, engineering and production. On October 9 and 16, the team demonstrated how the car operates to students at Glasgow Middle School (photo), including the project’s problems associated with general science, engineering, solar energy, mathematics and more.
