Hats Off to South Boulevard Elementary for Cancer Fund Donations
- September 25, 2009
The Foundation for Children with Cancer is giving a big tip of the hat to the students and staff at South Boulevard Foreign Language Academic Immersion Magnet School this week. That’s because the school held Hooray for Hats On Day Tuesday, September 22, and collected $689.50 for the foundation. Students (pictured, left to right) Christian Chambers and Sarah Miller held the check while other students celebrated their collection. That amount included money chipped in by the Downtown Kiwanis Club, which sponsors the school’s K-Kids Club. The K-Kids Club of third, fourth and fifth graders organized the hat day, where faculty and students sported hats of all shapes and styles to raise money and bring awareness to kids who undergo treatment for cancer. Student Cyra Ford won the prize for best hat.
