The Students of the Year Awards Program is an opportunity to recognize some of the many outstanding elementary, middle and high school students in our schools. These students have demonstrated excellence in academic achievement, leadership ability and citizenship. The Louisiana State Department of Education, East Baton Rouge School System, and Neighbors Federal Credit Union sponsor this award.
Every school is encouraged to participate and send in a student portfolio, which provides evidence of the student’s accomplishments, to be reviewed by a committee of educators. We honored these students at a reception on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the InstructionalResourceCenter. The finalists from elementary, middle and high school and the winners were presented at the school board meeting following the reception. The winner from each level will represent East Baton Rouge Parish School System at the Regional Competition.
