Teachers Work in Summer to Prepare for Next School Year

The Curriculum Transition Team scheduled study and review sessions with East Baton Rouge Parish School System teachers at all levels last week and this week at Broadmoor High School in preparation for the start of the 2012-2013 school year on August 8.
For instance, at the elementary presentation Thursday morning, June 14, teachers (pictured, left to right) Jeanne Louque of Broadmoor Elementary, Susan Patterson of Magnolia Woods Elementary and Beth Yglesias of La Belle Aire Elementary worked on a project during a Grade Level Expectations (GLE) and transition session held by Dawn Briscoe (not pictured).
Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
