Scotlandville HS is participating in Desert RATS Students will interact with NASA's Desert Research and Technology Studies (RATS) team while they are field testing a variety of spacesuits, field assist and vehicles, and other scientific equipment that has been designed to support future space and planetary exploration.
Can a Shoebox Fly Challenge NASA will work with SMHS students with applying theoretical knowledge with design limitations to produce a working glider model.
A Journey Through Our State Oct. 4th Forest Heights Elementary
Region 14 in Abilene Texas will be hosting a video conferencing project for 4th and 5th graders around the nation. The project is scheduled for October 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th. Each day 5 different states will be connected for the students to presentations about their state. NASA will do a special presentation at the beginning of each day. Principal Brister in Washington, D.C., to Accept McKinley Middle School’s Second Blue Ribbon Award
On Tuesday, November 13, 2012, Principal Herman Brister (pictured, left) and the school’s Teacher of the Year, Lynn Williamson (right), were in Washington, D.C., accepting McKinley Middle Academic Magnet School’s National Blue Ribbon Award from U.S. Department of Education’s Director of National Blue Ribbon Schools Program Aba Kumi (center). The event, which recognized some 314 schools from across the United States, was held at the Omni Hotel. Click herefor story.
