White Hills Elementary Students Enjoy Donuts with Dad
- Oct 19, 07
On Friday, October 19, 2007, students at White Hills Elementary School enjoyed spending a little extra time with their dad. Approximately 75 dads attended the breakfast.
As they entered the cafeteria, each dad took a ticket for a chance to win a football autographed by Jimmy Williams, former NFL player for the Seattle Seahawks. Jerome Miller, the father of a second grader, won the prize.
Many of the fathers commented throughout the morning on how much they enjoyed spending the extra time with their children. "The children really enjoy seeing their parents on the school campus. The father figure is so important in these children's lives," said Myra Varmall, Principal of White Hills Elementary. She also added that since the event, many fathers have volunteered for various events that are happening throughout the year.
