Of the 10,000 people participating in the March 7 Susan G. Komen Baton Rouge Race for the Cure walkathon, 52 of them proudly represented Woodlawn Middle School. Between all the school staff members (pictured), they raised $1,040 to help fund breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in our region.
In fact, Woodlawn Middle School won an award for Schools with the Most Participants (second place). The school’s team, which included seven cancer survivors among staff members, was led by Principal Shelly Colvin (center, blond hair and pink shirt with boa).
